Seamless pattern trends, early enough to design for

Surface work is seasonal and slow to make, which is the worst possible combination for guessing. This shows which pattern subjects buyers are searching for, how many already exist, and — the part that matters most for a collection — how many weeks before the season demand actually begins to climb.

A whole category of nothing but patterns

Patterns are one of the tracked subject categories, so the ranking can be scoped to it and read as a shortlist rather than filtered out of everything else.

Measured lead times, per event

For events that visibly move a phrase, the ramp is measured on last year’s weekly series: when searches started climbing, how high they went, and therefore the date to have the collection indexed by. Christmas, for example, ramps around six weeks out.

Two markets, scored separately

Stock supply and Etsy seller competition are never mixed. Etsy listing counts tell you how many sellers you would be up against on the handmade market — a different question from how many files exist on Adobe Stock, and kept on its own axis.

What this does not cover

Etsy contributes seller counts only and publishes no AI flag, so an Etsy-only read carries no AI-saturation number. Lead times exist for events whose effect on a phrase was large enough to measure, and are absent rather than estimated otherwise.
