Worth drawing, or skip it?

Type an idea. SincereTrend reads buyer demand, existing supply and AI share across Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock and Etsy — and answers in plain words, with an upload deadline and the tags to publish with.

Any technique — hand-drawn, vector, 3D or AI-assisted — the data is about subjects, not technique.

Why this?

  • Buyers search for it about 42,800 times a month while only 3,100 works compete for it.
  • 18% of the labelled works are AI-generated — well below the mark where a drawn piece is fighting for leftovers.

Real verdicts from the idea check — sample data.

Checked against 26,900+ tracked niches · 10 data sources · updated daily

The easy niches filled up overnight.

Whatever you work in, half the subjects worth making are already sitting there in ten thousand near-identical variations, uploaded last week. A niche that crowded pays badly no matter who made the files — so choosing what to make next on instinct has never been more expensive.

The work you have already published moved too. Keywords that carried a piece two years ago may now sit in a niche that is three-quarters AI. SincereTrend measures both halves: what to fix in the portfolio you have, and what to make next.

Start here

Start with the work you've already made.

Most tools tell you what to make next and leave your back catalogue alone. This one reads the portfolio you already have — a vision model reads the medium, palette and subjects of each piece, and 3 are enough to describe a style — then tells you what every published keyword is actually doing.

Studio — your style read from your own pieces, every keyword you publish scored against the market, the pairs competing with each other, and the strong niches your portfolio never mentions. Sample data; the real screen also shows a thumbnail of each piece.
Your keywords, judged against the market
Not keywords guessed from the picture — the ones you actually publish. Each piece is scored against current demand and AI saturation.
Pieces competing with each other
When two works share most of their keywords they surface for the same searches and split the traffic instead of doubling it. You get told which pairs, and by how much.
The keywords nobody of yours claims
Strong niches your portfolio never mentions, named — so the gap is a list you can act on rather than something you might notice.

What happens to your artwork

The full-resolution original is never written down — it is analysed in memory, downscaled, and discarded. We keep two watermarked WebP copies (384px and 1024px on the long edge) so you can see your own grid; the watermark is a 10% overlay, not DRM — what protects your work is that we never hold the original. Prefer to upload nothing? Import a contributor CSV from Adobe Stock or Shutterstock and the keyword audit works on metadata alone.

Then look outward

Then see the whole market at once.

One score per topic says whether it is worth your hours — buyer demand from the places people search, supply and seller competition from the places you are trying to beat, never the two confused. Once your style is read, the map is ranked against how you actually work.

Opportunity map — supply vs. demand, with your own keywords plotted among the market. Bubbles in the shaded corner are the high-demand, low-supply whitespace; colour marks how AI-saturated each niche already is.

The numbers behind the verdict

Every niche, scored — with the date to upload by.

Every verdict opens into this: demand ÷ supply per topic, AI share from the marketplace’s own flag, a 90-day search trend, and a 52-week forecast naming the projected peak — so the deadline you see is read from last year’s ramp, not guessed.

Opportunity ranking — every topic scored by demand ÷ supply, with AI-share, a 90-day search trend and a forecast chip naming the projected peak. It also runs scoped to your style-matched keywords alone.

No dashboard required

Or just ask.

The AI Advisor queries the same 10 sources for you and answers with a ranked report instead of a paragraph of guesses. It cannot invent a number — the model picks the topics and explains why; every metric is filled in server-side from the data, and a topic the data does not back is dropped before it reaches you.

AI Advisor — one question, answered as a report. It lists every analysis step it ran, then ranks the niches by opportunity, each with its AI share and the date to upload by.

Measured, not guessed

Where the data comes from.

10 sources, four jobs — here is every one of them, what it is good for, and where it falls short. AI share comes from the marketplace’s own label, and where no platform publishes one, you get an honest unknown instead of an invented number.

Supply

What already exists

  • Adobe Stock

Illustration counts, plus Adobe's own AI-generated flag on every asset it returns — the one marketplace that tells us outright what is AI, and the anchor behind every AI-share number we show.

  • Shutterstock

Illustration and vector counts, from the official API and the public catalogue. Shutterstock publishes no AI flag, so it contributes supply, never AI share.

  • iStocknewest · partial coverage

Illustration counts. Our newest source — collecting since August 2026, so it covers a growing slice of the pool rather than all of it. iStock publishes no AI flag either.

Demand

What buyers are looking for

  • Google Trends

Weekly search interest with over a year of history — the longest series we hold, and the only thing a seasonality read is built from. Weeks backfilled from before 2025 are partly interpolated, and the app says so where it matters.

  • Pinterest Trends

Search interest on the platform illustrators actually get discovered on, and the only place we get year-on-year and month-on-month growth.

  • Reddit

Mentions across 34 illustration, craft, design and seller communities, plus the themes those threads keep circling back to. Demand before it reaches a search box. Reddit publishes no score to logged-out readers, so this contributes how often a phrase comes up, never how popular the post was.

  • Google Autocompletediscovery only

Surfaces the long-tail phrasings people type that we were not tracking yet. It only adds keywords to the pool — it never contributes a number.

Competition

Who you are up against

  • Etsy

Active listings for the phrase, via the official API — how many sellers you would be competing with on the handmade market. Scored on its own axis, never counted as demand and never as stock supply.

Timing

When to publish it

  • Holidays & observances

Public holidays, religious dates and observances from Nager.Date, OpenHolidays, Hebcal and the UK government, tagged by theme.

  • Film & TV releases

Upcoming releases from TMDB and TVmaze. They do not create demand for the characters — they reset what looks current, months ahead of the date.

That is the whole list. If a marketplace is not named above, we do not read it.

Questions, answered

Who is SincereTrend for?

Anyone who sells illustration, vector art, patterns or digital designs on stock sites and marketplaces — Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock and Etsy. Technique is not the point: whether you draw by hand, work in vector, render in 3D or use AI, what the data measures is which subjects buyers search for and how much supply already exists. It does two jobs: it audits the work you have already published, and it ranks what to make next against your own style. What it does not cover is photography — supply is counted in the illustration catalogues only.

How does the worth-drawing verdict work?

Every verdict is read from the same measurements the rest of the product shows: how often buyers search for the subject, how many works already compete for it, how much of that supply is AI-generated by the marketplace’s own label, and where its season stands. Upload deadlines come from measured run-ups — when search interest for that subject actually starts climbing — not from a rule of thumb. And every card opens to the numbers behind it, because an answer you cannot check is an oracle. The skips are real skips: when a niche is flooded, it says no.

Do I have to upload my artwork?

No. You can use the market side — opportunity rankings, keyword research, seasonality and the AI Advisor — without uploading anything. Uploading is what unlocks the portfolio half: reading your style, auditing the keywords carrying each piece, and matching the market to how you actually work. You can also import just your keywords from a contributor CSV, with no images at all.

What happens to the images I upload?

The full-resolution original is never written down. It is analysed in memory, downscaled, and discarded. What we keep are two watermarked WebP copies — one 384px and one 1024px on the long edge — used to show you your own grid and detail view. The watermark is a tiled overlay at 10% opacity: it is not DRM, and a determined person could filter it off. What actually protects your work is that we never hold the original. You can delete any piece, which removes its stored copies too.

What does the portfolio audit actually check?

The keywords you really publish, not keywords guessed from the picture. For each piece it reports how its keywords stand against current demand and AI saturation, and flags three specific problems: pieces sitting in niches AI has taken, pieces competing with each other because their keyword sets overlap, and pieces whose demand is next door — where better keywords would move them closer to it. Across the whole portfolio it also names strong keywords nothing of yours uses.

How does it know my style?

A vision model reads each analysed piece for medium, palette and subject matter, and those readings are aggregated into one profile. 3 pieces are the minimum, because two describe a single piece rather than a style. That profile is what the style-matched ranking searches with — and it leaves out every keyword you already publish, so it suggests niches rather than repeating you back to yourself.

Which marketplaces and sources does it cover?

Supply comes from Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and iStock, and seller competition from Etsy. Buyer demand comes from Google Trends, Pinterest Trends and Reddit, with Google Autocomplete suggesting new phrases worth tracking. On top sits a timing layer: public holidays and observances, and upcoming film and TV releases, each linked to the keywords it moves. That is 10 sources in all, reconciled into one time-series per keyword — and nothing outside that list is collected.

How often is the data updated?

Signals are collected daily, so opportunity scores track the current market rather than a one-time snapshot. Not every source touches every keyword every day, though: the metered marketplace sweeps go to keywords with proven search demand first, while a brand-new long-tail phrase gets a cheap supply check until it earns more. Every keyword page shows when its numbers were last collected.

What is the AI Advisor?

A research agent built on top of the same dataset. You ask in plain words — "what should I draw for Halloween?" — and it queries demand, supply, AI share, seasonality and upcoming events, then returns a ranked report: which niches to take, what to make in each, and when to upload. It shows every step it ran to get there, and it can read the pieces you select in Studio so its answer is about your portfolio rather than the market in general.

Does the AI Advisor make up the numbers?

No. The model only chooses which topics to recommend and explains why — it never writes a metric. Every number in the report is filled in by our servers from the underlying data, and any topic the data does not actually back is dropped from the answer before you see it.

Is a reference image in the chat treated the same way?

No, and it is worth being precise. An image you attach to an AI Advisor message is used for that analysis and never stored — only a flag recording that the message had one. A piece you add to your portfolio is different: it is meant to stay, so its two watermarked copies are kept until you delete it.

How do you know how much of a niche is AI?

Mostly we do not have to guess. Adobe Stock labels its own AI-generated assets, and that first-party flag is where our AI share comes from. Shutterstock and iStock publish no equivalent flag, so a niche measured only on those reports an unknown AI share rather than an invented one. Separately, a vision model rates how much of the sampled supply still reads as hand-drawn — we deliberately do not let it guess AI provenance from pixels, because it cannot do that reliably.

How complete is the iStock data?

iStock is our newest source — it started collecting in August 2026, so it currently covers a growing slice of the keyword pool rather than all of it. Where an iStock count is missing, supply for that keyword is measured from Adobe Stock and Shutterstock instead, and the app shows the gap rather than filling it in. iStock also publishes no AI-generated flag, so it contributes supply but never AI share.

Can I use SincereTrend from Claude, Cursor or my own AI agent?

Yes. SincereTrend runs an MCP server, so any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol can query the opportunity ranking, keyword history, forecasts, the event calendar and upload timing directly — and answer from the measurements rather than from a guess. It is read-only: it cannot change your watchlist, your plan or your portfolio, and it cannot reach your uploaded artwork. ChatGPT and Claude connect by signing in and approving it, the way any connector does; editors and terminals use a key you create yourself. Either way you can disconnect one client at a time. It is included in the subscription and in the 14-day trial, and it stops working when the subscription does — there is no separate door.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. You start with a 14-day free trial and no card up front. After that it is $5/month, and you can cancel anytime.

What happens to my portfolio if I cancel?

It stays. Your uploaded pieces, your style profile and your audits keep working on a free account — the subscription is what buys the market layer: opportunity rankings, the style-matched ranking, seasonality and the AI Advisor. Cancelling costs you the market data, not your own work.
